7″ ear height. Creamy white shoepeg corn. Kernels zig and zag all over the cob with no regard to rows. Shoepeg speaks to the kernel shape which is deep and narrow like a wooden shoe peg from the 19th century. Tender and slender with a longer roasting ear window than most heirlooms. Productive and multi-tillered with two ears, in fertile soil it can produce three large plants, so space 18-24″ apart. Deep, deep kernels make it an excellent processing corn for your canning and freezing.
